Shiba Inu (SHIB) liquidations explained
Shiba Inu (SHIB) is a memecoin with very high volatility and lots of high-leverage traders. That makes SHIB liquidation cascades especially violent – clusters of 25x–100x positions get hit quickly.
How to read the SHIB liquidation heatmap
Every bar is a price level where a large amount of leveraged SHIB positions would be liquidated. The longer the bar, the more money sits there.
- Green bars above price are SHIB short liquidations. If Shiba Inu rises into them, shorts are forced to buy – that can push the price up faster.
- Red bars below price are SHIB long liquidations. If Shiba Inu falls into them, longs are forced to sell – that can accelerate a drop.
- The gold line is the current SHIB price.
Why traders watch SHIB liquidation magnets
Large liquidation clusters attract price because they hold a lot of liquidity. Once a SHIB cluster is hit, the forced orders can cause a quick spike or wick – after that the level is usually "used up". Many traders use the nearest big cluster above and below as short-term targets and as zones where volatility can jump.
FAQ
What is a Shiba Inu liquidation heatmap?
It shows the price levels where many leveraged SHIB futures positions would be force-closed. Short liquidations sit above the SHIB price, long liquidations below it. The bigger the bar, the more positions are stacked there.
Where are the biggest SHIB liquidations right now?
The heatmap on this page updates every minute. The two cards on the right show the nearest large SHIB liquidation cluster above the price (shorts) and below it (longs), with their distance and estimated size.
Why do liquidation levels act like magnets?
When price reaches a large cluster, forced buying (shorts) or forced selling (longs) kicks in and can accelerate the move. Traders watch these levels as likely targets and as zones of higher volatility.
How is this heatmap calculated?
MMTC Pulse estimates SHIB liquidation clusters from Binance Futures price candles and open-interest changes over the last 21 days, combined with common leverage levels. It is a model estimate, not the exchange's real order book.
Can I get an alert when SHIB gets close to a liquidation level?
Yes. The free MMTC Pulse iPhone app sends a push notification when SHIB gets within 0.8 % of a liquidation magnet and when a magnet gets hit – no account needed.
