PancakeSwap (CAKE) liquidations explained
PancakeSwap is a DeFi project, and CAKE is a popular perpetual for leveraged traders. DeFi tokens often react strongly to market-wide liquidations, so knowing where CAKE positions get wiped out helps you spot likely wicks.
How to read the CAKE liquidation heatmap
Every bar is a price level where a large amount of leveraged CAKE positions would be liquidated. The longer the bar, the more money sits there.
- Green bars above price are CAKE short liquidations. If PancakeSwap rises into them, shorts are forced to buy – that can push the price up faster.
- Red bars below price are CAKE long liquidations. If PancakeSwap falls into them, longs are forced to sell – that can accelerate a drop.
- The gold line is the current CAKE price.
Why traders watch CAKE liquidation magnets
Large liquidation clusters attract price because they hold a lot of liquidity. Once a CAKE cluster is hit, the forced orders can cause a quick spike or wick – after that the level is usually "used up". Many traders use the nearest big cluster above and below as short-term targets and as zones where volatility can jump.
FAQ
What is a PancakeSwap liquidation heatmap?
It shows the price levels where many leveraged CAKE futures positions would be force-closed. Short liquidations sit above the CAKE price, long liquidations below it. The bigger the bar, the more positions are stacked there.
Where are the biggest CAKE liquidations right now?
The heatmap on this page updates every minute. The two cards on the right show the nearest large CAKE liquidation cluster above the price (shorts) and below it (longs), with their distance and estimated size.
Why do liquidation levels act like magnets?
When price reaches a large cluster, forced buying (shorts) or forced selling (longs) kicks in and can accelerate the move. Traders watch these levels as likely targets and as zones of higher volatility.
How is this heatmap calculated?
MMTC Pulse estimates CAKE liquidation clusters from Binance Futures price candles and open-interest changes over the last 21 days, combined with common leverage levels. It is a model estimate, not the exchange's real order book.
Can I get an alert when CAKE gets close to a liquidation level?
Yes. The free MMTC Pulse iPhone app sends a push notification when CAKE gets within 0.8 % of a liquidation magnet and when a magnet gets hit – no account needed.
