Kava is a layer-1 blockchain, and KAVA perpetual futures are traded with high leverage on every major exchange. When KAVA moves fast, stacked liquidations often turn a normal move into a sharp spike or wick.
How to read the KAVA liquidation heatmap
Every bar is a price level where a large amount of leveraged KAVA positions would be liquidated. The longer the bar, the more money sits there.
- Green bars above price are KAVA short liquidations. If Kava rises into them, shorts are forced to buy – that can push the price up faster.
- Red bars below price are KAVA long liquidations. If Kava falls into them, longs are forced to sell – that can accelerate a drop.
