Aptos is a layer-1 blockchain, and APT perpetual futures are traded with high leverage on every major exchange. When APT moves fast, stacked liquidations often turn a normal move into a sharp spike or wick.
How to read the APT liquidation heatmap
Every bar is a price level where a large amount of leveraged APT positions would be liquidated. The longer the bar, the more money sits there.
- Green bars above price are APT short liquidations. If Aptos rises into them, shorts are forced to buy – that can push the price up faster.
- Red bars below price are APT long liquidations. If Aptos falls into them, longs are forced to sell – that can accelerate a drop.
- The gold line is the current APT price.
